EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS OF MORINGA'S LEAVES AGAINST Escherichia coli USING DISC DIFFUSION METHOD

Moringa plants have many benefits, both leaves, flowers, stems, fruit blossoms, and seeds. moringa leaves contain various phytochemicals, viz. alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, steroids, triterpenoids, tannins, which antimicrobial properties. This study aimed to determine effect ethanol extract against Escherichia coli. was an experimental with a posttest only control group design model. method used evaluate extract's anti-bacterial from disc diffusion method. leaf obtained by maceration ratio Simplicia powder, solvent 1:10. then concentrated rotary evaporator diluted using DMSO into five different concentrations 70%, 75%, 85%, 90%, 95%. All data were analyzed One Way Anova test expressed as Mean ± SD. showed all treatment groups this significant difference zone inhibition; it shown P-value <0.05. Only 70% Serial concentration differences positive control. Overall, can be concluded is effective anti-bacteria coli, especially at > 75%.
